So...With no one to babysit lately, I've been a busy busy bee at home, and today bought an ice pick with our remaining money to totally overhaul the driveway. I started out with the best attitude and bundled up. Thanks Dad, for the wonderful snow mobiling boots, I've gotten lots and lots of compliments on them up here. I pretty much wear them everywhere. So for those of you that think you know cold, you don't, at least not until you've lived in the Artic, or North Dakota. The current temperature, a whopping 0 degrees is due to a warm front. Yes, that's right, 0 degrees is warm. Ah! I am getting used to it though, or...numb. Anyway As you can see, in the above pictures, the driveway pre-shoveled, and post shoveled. In the process I broke the bigger shovel, and since we're out of money I had to use the kiddie shovel, which was kind of a joke. It was better then my hands though, which I did use too since the driveway fell apart in pieces with the ice pick. It took two hours+ and I kinda of gave up at the end because my muscles were too worn out and the snow was too deep to pick, Kev will have to use his manly bisceps to finish. He's not feeling so hot though, and might come home from work. So it can wait. 79 days to warm weather and windy OK. ND isn't so terrible just a lot of work to live in, but thats probably true for any place in one way or another. It took about an hour to stop shivering when I came inside, I forgot about the cold because I was workin so hard on the driveway, and when I came inside my belly and thighs and upper calves were as red as rudolphs nose. My lower calves were as toasty as could be thanks to my anti winter boots, again. Thank you Dad and Mom. I am so returning to a normal color, and will definitely be more careful next time. Anyway, not much else has been going on, the missionaries stopped by this week and last, and a lot of our friends have moved to Kansas. There are moving trucks all throughout the neighborhoods everyday. I'm anxious to start packing, and deep cleaning. Oh and I picked up a chair from the airman's attic, one of those round dish type chairs that I love love love! It's very cute, I'll take a picture. Hope everyone is well and happy. Lots of love.

Sorry to say - that sounds miserable! We've had to shovel the driveway twice but only light, fluffy stuff and it went fast. Glad you like the toasty boots. Hey, maybe the sun will come out tomorrow and melt it all.
ReplyDeleteway to work your tail off. I love that your driveway came off in pieces!! that's ridiculous.
