Ice Ice Baby
It's approx 7:30AM and I've been up seen five. Kevin and I decided we were going to go to the gym each morning at five, and today was the first day. Sometimes I can't help but feel that the great state of North Dakota is vindictive and getting me back for disliking it vehemently by making things as difficult as possible. For example: shoveling the driveway, and going to church. It still surprises me that church can be cancelled. weird. Anyway the normal three minute drive to the gym took seventeen minutes. Last night, for reasons unexplainable because it was freezing, the clouds decided they were tired of snowing and wanted to rain instead which they proceeded to do all night. Since it was freezing, the water puddled up nicely in a complete new layer utterly enveloping the road and sidewalks. At approx. 5 MPH on our way to the gym we slip aprox. 20 times past stop and yield signs, while turning, and attempting to move forward. Despite the roads life goes on as usual, works not cancelled, schools not cancelled, and the gym was surprisingly full. It's not that I hate winter, I love all for seasons, and I definitely am not uncomfortable driving in snow and ice but here it becomes a little more then tedious, with winter being the majority of the year. Anyway, church was really good yesterday I held a little two month old baby named Luke and he was wiggly but then fell asleep. The day before Kevin and I did some shopping and I got a guitar which I've been pinching pennies for. It's just a beginners guitar but im pretty excited to learn. It was a pretty good week, kevin was working twelve hour shifts because there was an exercise, and that was a little rough. Everything is pretty much back to normal, we miss some friends that have already moved. 7 and 1/2 week til we move. I think I might miss ND, just a little only because it's a challenge and I have to admit, once I finished shoveling the driveway it felt pretty good, and hard work feels good. Yukis lonely and if it warms up a lil, its supposed to be a roasting 35 degrees today, we might just go for a walk.
