H&H Gun Range

On Saturday, a few Saturdays ago, Kevin and I went to H&H Gun Range. It was a nice facility, pretty clean, and there was a wide variety of people there. I was pretty darn nervous, guns have that effect on me. Anyway, we get to the range, and are put on an hour waiting list. Meanwhile we have a chance to peruse the store and range rules. We read the rules, and then signed a paper saying that we did so, and that was it. They don't screen us or ask questions, they just give us guns, ammo, and hearing/eye protection, and assume we know what the heck we're doing. Is that typical? Is it really always that easy to get access to deadly weapons?

We rented a semi-automatic rifle, a 22 I think? I'm no good with the numbers/names etc. yet, but I'll work on that. I have to say though, I was rocking the ear and eye protection, so much so, I think I will wear it even off the range. JK, but I was kinda bummed we didn't get a picture of that. I'll try to do that next time. Some of the weapons were so incredibly loud and powerful. A group of guys next to us were firing something so intense I would have sworn it was an RPG ha ha ha.

We're going to the range to practice for Kevin's marksmanship test coming up in a month. We'll go again soon. It was really fun. We're going to take a pistol safety class and then get a conceal carry license. I'm not sure if we will actually get a pistol, but after watching too much news on TV, it would make me feel a lot better. Below are the targets. The one with the holes in the head is mine. Kevin was a pretty good coach!
