Today, the first day of 2010, was beautiful, sunny and warm. We went out to lunch, yes I am aware of how much we go out to eat. It's a lot. When we were leaving the parking lot we spotted a friendly pooch roaming around. He had on a big leather collar, and was clean, but had no tags. So we took him in for the night. He weighs a lot, and is huge compared to Yuki. Like a horse. We'll likely take him to a shelter in the morning so his family can find him. I checked craigslist but didn't see anything. He's nice and friendly but has slept a lot since he's been here. He even gets along well with Yuki. If we had the space to house him for longer we probably would, he's very sweet and mellow.
I'm thankful to have a husband full of patience and understanding for my need to help, house or protect all the animals I find out and about alone. I just can't stand the thought of someone's pet or best friend being hit by a car, or not having a chance to get home. I also think every animal deserves to have a home where they are safe, healthy and loved. I hope everyone had a safe New Year's eve, and has a fantastic year!
