I'm in a wee bit of pain, and the only thing that comes to mind to describe how I feel is this picture. My back hurts, my stomache hurts, and I feel nauseous-ish off and on. Blah! Other than that, it's been a great day. Kevin's on a diet to lose a few more lbs before his test for field training. Cross your fingers that he gets a spot this year!!!!! That would really make everything fall into place and it would be amazing. As it is however, spots have been cut this year. There are only so many spots nation wide for field training, and this year there are less then there were last year. Also, to clarify, field training is like Basic training for officers. It's a competition to get in, and once your in you compete and try to pass the requirements as they evaluate you and your leadership skills through some possible/some impossible tasks and tests. Once you are through field training you start getting a stipend and you are a contracted cadet, if you keep your nose clean for the next two years then you commission as an officer. If Kev makes field training this year, then next spring we would be going to Japan for a few months. He has a mandatory study abroad tour that he has to do for his degree requirements. OK so now that I've rambled about that onto the next topic. ME! I am a busy bee, I've been applying for some jobs to earn some extra income, am trying to organize DAM, and studying for tests. Its not quite midterm, but I have three tests this week. I'm thinking since I'm still not feeling well even after my cure all cranberry juice and chocolate treat, if you know me, this makes perfect sense. I'm going to head to bed and catch up on some Psych reading. It was a lovely cozy rainy PJ day, but its still lonely without all my friendlies.
OH! I love Washington, the views are breathtaking and I feel at home here. College on the other hand, is... something. I love classes and learning, not so much all the 18 yr olds that are like so totally the coolest ever man. I know you are super, but can you be aware of the people around you? You know, it's not even the age. There are some that are mature for their age and some that are... not. Also, there was an attack at the school Friday morning, scary. The girl fought off the guy and called police but the "prowler" is still on the "prowl" My husband and my pepper spray make me feel pretty safe its just sad that we have losers everywhere. Wow I think I sound really negative. If I pity him, and justify his actions by his terrible up bringing does that make it better? hahaha doesnt matter. I'm pretty proud of the girl refusing to go with him. You go girl! Alright, later gators.
Oh!
Scary about the attacker on the loose! I would have to agree with the annoyingness of teenagers on campus - Ben was not a big fan of them either. Actually, come to think of it, I'm a little more annoyed by teenagers now than I was then. Huh, maybe I'm getting less tolerant?!?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, good luck to you on your tests and to Kevin with getting the slot. That would be wonderful for you guys to get a trip to Japan!
P.S. I used our shiny new griddle this a.m. to make blueberry pancakes for your padres. Yum! Maybe next time I'll add cranberries and chocolate for a twist! :)
