POST DEPLOYMENT!

Ready? Are you Sure? Well ready or not, here comes the greatest slew of blogs yet. We've got a lot to catch up on. It's not true, we have not fallen off the ends of the world we've just been a little MIA... or really just a lot lazy.

This is the Group Kevin was a part of. That's the plane he currently works on, the AWACS.

It was a short deployment, but oh how I missed him! No one called me when they came in, and I was waiting and waiting and waiting.... sadly so was Kevin and he finally stole someones phone and called me to come get him. I got lost somewhere, and was left out of the loop. I was pretty mad, and we were both sad that I didn't get to see him get off the plane, but that was pretty much all forgotten and we were both just happy he was home.

Ok the rest of the pictures are all of Kevin because I was just enjoying having him home, and had someone to take pictures of. We enjoyed his time off before our vacation, and adjusted slowly to post deployment life. I forgot to mention that when I did get to the pick up spot I went to go look for my airman to take him home and couldn't find him. I did eventually see some weirdo that kept looking at me and then looking around. It took me a minute to realize it was my husband, he did make it super difficult to recognize him though in a Boonie hat and sunglasses. He was a lot stockier then he was when he left too. Turns out he didn't recognize me either.

It's been amazing since he's been home, and he's told me some good stories about life over there. He worked 12 hours a day, 6 days a week for 4 months. He was the only LDS guy in his group but there were maybe 6 total on the base? They had a makeshift hour church every week. He made some really good friends as well, and is being recommended for an achievement medal for some of the work he did over there.

It wasn't as bad as a lot of the briefings made it out to be, but I was still glad I knew the signs to look for to prevent trouble. He was in a sort of daze for awhile adjusting to the idea that life went on without him while he was gone.
