This is the only picture I took from a whole 3 and 1/2 days of visiting from my parents. Mom, I need a re-do so I can document better. It was so much fun to have family around, to talk with my Dad and watch Grandma and Lexerdoodle play and laugh. It was a little sad because when asked what we do for fun the first thing that came to mind is "Go to Fred Meyer's!". That's pretty much the extent of our excitement in Ellensburg. We went to Yakima one day and perused Costco, but for the most part layed low since someone caught a pretty bad bug the first day of fun. Oh and we watched 2016 and that was interesting. Kevin and I voted today. First time we're voting in a presidential election. It felt good to be a part of it. We have mail in ballots in Washington.
While the Madre was here she was on a no-headache diet and it inspired us! Kevin and I both want to increase our energy, feel better, and eat clean sooooo.... we're getting back to basics and going vegan for two weeks. We'll cut out meat, dairy, eggs, and also refined sugar and processed foods. So basically we'll be eating brown rice, beans, veggies, fruits and the like. I'm excited and I plan to document our progress here. We're starting tomorrow, which is Monday.
Lex is growing like a weed with no end in sight. He's teething again, cruising on all the furniture and anything he can use to pull himself up. His high chair should arrive this week! I've waited sooo long for it and can't wait. We can start having normal meals as a family and I think Lex is really ready for some hearty solids and good food. So far his solids have just been for taste and they've been really sparatic. Plus, it'll be amazing to stow him while I cook and not have someone trying to crawl up my legs and simultaneously pulling my pants lower and lower. The picture is from Amazon, that's the one! It's a multi-function chair that can also be a booster seat. It says 4 in 1 but I'm not really sure of all it does.
It snowed for the first time a few days ago and then was sixty today! I'm all for the cold weather. Being cozy, cooking good foods, and milking the Holiday Season for all I can is all better when there's snow on the ground. It just sets the mood. Like glitter.
Now that I've started writing again I have so much to say!!
I have so many plans and have just started getting into them. It's probably Pinterest that has spurred this onslaught of creativity and productiveness. That, in combination with my child development class has made me want to start several projects for my growing baby boy. I'll post pictures of my projects as they come to life. In the meantime, he woke up. Duty calls!!
PS Mom, last night he was up only three times and quieted pretty quickly. Progress! Everyone is sleeping better.
I need do-overs too. I feel better and won't sneeze on anyone. It sure was fun to hang out with you three!
