I'm trying to make this a regular Sunday thing. Like a journal for me and the fam, but public so I'll try not to waste too much time on my feelings and interpretations of said feelings. ; ) And.... to start off on the right note here's a picture.
Things have been busy around the Hinman house. Kevin got a scholarship $4,000! Everything is approved and taken care of, he had to send in oodles of documentation that took approximately 5,000 tries before the foreign center at CWU gave him the right documentation. Now we're just waiting on the funds to be disbursed. WOOHOO! We found a place to store our car thanks to our mom and extended family. We found and reserved a place to live in Kyoto and it's approx 23.26 meters which I think is just under 250 square feet. I'm so relieved and excited to have somewhere to live! We also have our flights booked.
There are a couple of variations, like the wash machine could be on the balcony. We're on the second floor. We're close enough to the University that Kevin plans to buy a used bike and ride to school, and there is a park (which looks to be mostly cement) close by. I'll include the website to look at actual pictures of the inside of the appts. Most of the rooms are pretty much identical so it doesn't matter which one you look at. It's appt. 8 in case the link doesn't take you directly there. Also the landlords have let us know that they'll remove the single bed and leave us with futon stuff for a bed on the floor.

We're going up to Seattle this next weekend to take care of getting our Visa's for the trip and then I think we just have to actually pack up the house and pack our stuff.
In other news my wedding band broke, sad. It's one of the brackets on the top that holds the two bands together and it hurts to wear so I've been just wearing my engagement ring and 1. I don't know when we'll get a chance to get it fixed 2. Don't know if we're still covered under the warranty. I'm thinking not because we haven't been in, in too long since there's no Zales near us.
I went to the Dr. Friday and baby #2 is looking healthy and well and growing. I'm now in the second trimester and we'll find out the sex right before we leave to Japan. My next apt. is March 21st a Thursday I think. Kevin is voting girl, I vote boy so we'll see.
It's a little blurry but the head is on the left.
Lex's Bday bash is coming up and we're excited to celebrate. I can't believe it's been almost a year already. He is wonderful and giggly, and just so much fun to be around. Our life is brighter with him in it. He's walking everywhere and talks up an unintelligible storm. His favorite things are opening doors (that haven't been closed all the way), walking or crawling out of the house as fast as he can if he sees an opportunity (like when Dad takes the trash out), opening drawers, pulling books off of the bookshelf, eating everything (especially if it's something he found off the floor, like most recently a clump of dirt) and wrestling with our poofy down comforter.
We're halfway through the quarter already, and registering for next quarter. I'll be attempting to take classes online from CWU while Kevin goes to Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. We're all healthy, happy and doing great. Hope everyone else is too, have a great week!
