The countdown is on! I have six weeks left until my due date of August 14th. I can't believe how quickly it's gone by. This time around has been a LOT easier than last time. I think walking everywhere has been what's helped the most. It's helped keep my weight under wraps and I've felt great, for the most part, during the second and third trimesters. We have two and a half weeks left in country and any extra prayers to keep Ellie in my belly would be appreciated. We just want to make it back to America before she's born. We'll deal with whatever challenges moving in and having a baby provides, but it'd be a lot easier than having to wait here longer and trying to get another passport or whatever we would need to do. I have my last Dr. appointment this Friday and I'm feeling confident that I'll be cleared to fly.
Alexander is doing great and growing so much! He listens pretty well for the most part but is beginning to throw some spectacular tantrums. He gets frustrated when he doesn't get what he wants, the way he wants it. Kevin gave him a Clif bar, which Alexander was excited about, but then Kevin broke it in half before giving it to him and Alexander was so distraught about it he threw it and then threw himself on the bed to lament. Eventually he calmed down and went to pick up the half he threw. I'm amazed by how much he comprehends, and how physically capable he is! Less than a year ago he wasn't even crawling! He runs, climbs, and is all around pretty coordinated. He LOVES the slide at the park and won't hesitate to climb to the top by himself if given any leeway. He's too brave for his own good at the moment.
Much to Kevin's dismay Alexander loves the tablet and playing games from the Zoo Train App. He can do quite a bit of it himself but will bring the tablet to you and put it in your hands or lap when he's stuck and needs help. He has discovered that he likes TV, and as much as I don't like letting him watch a lot of it, I appreciate the downtime. I'm excited to have his high chair back and hope that minimizes the messes he makes, with food at least. Being a mom is so much fun, and I'm loving it. I can't get enough of his giggles, kisses, and hugs. The sticky hands... I don't love quite as much, along with the trail of sticky residue throughout the house between 2-3 feet up every surface.
Kevin's doing well in school, learning a ton and I think it's safe to say at this point he's fluent. He's about ready to go home too though.
In other news, I locked myself out of my Facebook, which was a large chunk of my entertainment during the day... which is partially why I'm blogging. I can't fix it until we get home because Facebook sends a text to my phone to verify and unlock my account. My phone is suspended until we're home and even if it weren't it wouldn't have service over here.
The duplexes that we were set to move into changed ownership and management and we were having trouble getting a hold of them. I'm nervous about having somewhere to come home to! We're doing our best to get a hold of them but they are going through the process of transferring all the information and residents and I'm sure busy too. Hopefully everything works out. We do have a deposit down (nothing signed though). Before the change, our landlord transferred our deposit to reserve a unit for us. There's not a lot we can do from here and it's not ideal but I'm hoping it works out and whatever happens I know we'll figure it out.
Missing everyone back home, and hoping all is well! We're going to be a family of four soon!!!
