The Weekend
This weekend, was so much fun! I got off work at 1:30 on Friday and Kevin and I decided to go explore Norman which is a town close to OKC, like the equivelant of Meridian vs. Boise. It's a college town, and it was cute and old. We ended up having dinner at Benvenuti's on the patio. It's a reeeally nice italian restaurant. We didn't realized quite how nice it was until we walked inside. The food was incredible. Both of us love to cook, and I think that's why we have so much fun exploring new restaurants each weekend and getting new ideas on what to cook each week. Saturday we took Yuki to the dog park and played soccer for a few hours... we got sunburnt. oops. I guess it's time to break out the spf 50 and aloe. Kevin looked worse than I did. We had some friends over that night and were going to play games but just talked most of the time. We did play "what's yours like?" It's a board game my parents bought us for... something. Christmas maybe? Anyway, it's hilarious. We tried to go to the pool/hot tub but the gates were locked... so we jumped them. Luckily we did not get into trouble. General Conference was amazing. Though, it was an adventure to be able to watch it. We just cancelled cable right before they decided to add the BYU channel to their list. It's easy enough to watch it online, but I much prefer using the monster of a tv we have. What good is it, if we don't use it right? Besides can you imagine General Conference in high definition! ha ha ha, it's almost like being there! jk. With this awesome modern technology I know it's possible to hook up laptops to tvs, I just dont know how to do it. We ended up calling geek squad, searching the internet, and calling a neighbor to help try to figure it out. Everyone said your just supposed to hook up the HDMI cord and it should automatically connect. Alas, that is not the case. On top of that, there are sooooo many different cords and ways to connect things. I think everything should be more compatible, and more simple. One everything cord would be great! Anyway, we tried my laptop, kevins laptop, and the web from the play station.... nothing. Then I tried my old laptop, and viola! It was an adventure, but well worth it. However, it's strange to not get General Conference on the normal channel options, or be close enough to attend. We're blessed to be able to have the technology that we do and grateful to be able to hear and see our church leaders. I hope everyone has a great week this week.

Sounds like a fun weekend - minus the cord frenzy! Dad was in McCall for Saturday and came home Sunday am. He got a flat tire on the trailer so had to leave it in Eagle. Sunday evening we got to have a "tire adventure" and I went with him to change the tire and drive it home.
ReplyDeleteThe explanation to why we will be in Washington is on my blog titled "washington" (It's a little complicated to explain)
