For Valentine's Day Kevin and I opted to celebrate our Val-naversary (on the 13th) since we weren't sure if he is going to be here for our two year anniversary. It really was an amazing day. I'd been saving for awhile for bicycles for the two of us and finally found some I like on craigslist. I was planning on surprising Kevin with them, but he was the one home when they were dropped off so there went that. Still he loved them and I'm sure they will be great for college. We didn't get the chance to try them until just recently because of the weather. About a week ago we rode them to Whataburger (two miles away). We rode through some neighborhoods, and Yuki came along for the ride in my backpack.
Back to Valentine's Day. We went to Build a Bear in the mall and did just that. I made a little Officer fuzz, and Kevin made...me. Although I'm not sure why I'm a monkey. Maybe it's because I'm really loud alllll the time...like my mom. Either way, I think they turned out really cute. After that we did a little shopping before heading over to Musashi's a hibachi restaurant. Kevin had made reservations and it was AMAZING. Hibachi cooks are truly talented, and the food was delicious. They even had Ramune soda! Delish. After dinner we walked around a bit and since we were in the Asian district we stopped at the market and picked up some Pocki (grahm cracker sticks covered in chocolate) It's my favorite.
Hmmm.... let's see what else... I guess this is why I should post more often.
We bought a gun, Kevin named it Lucille. It's a Stag AR15. It's a rifle, and pretty much identical to the M16 which is the gun the military uses. (or one of) Anyway, we got it to practice with so that Kevin can do well on his marksmanship test coming up. I have to admit guns intimidate the heck out of me, but I figure knowledge is power so I'm learning to safely use and maintain it. Plus it makes me feel a little bit better everytime I watch the news...Oklahoma City is crime crazy.
For Kevins Bday, I kept Kevin thinking it was going to be very low key, I'm shocked he believed me. We celebrated it the Saturday before. When he went to sleep, I covered the house in confetti, and the balloons that I had pre-ordered. They had notes in them that he had to pop to read. Some said, "free car clean from your wife", some said "do the hokey pokey" and some other things. It was a lot of fun. At midnight, I woke him up and took him to Ihop for breakfast. Then we came home, and he wanted to pop the balloons before we went back to sleep. When we woke up again, we got ready and I took him to the Oklahoma Science museum. It was SOOOO much fun!! We both loved it. We watched some movies in the dome theater, and went to the planetarium. We also got the chance to ride a segway... a lot harder then it looks.
We've both been working hard, and time has been flying by. We weren't sure for awhile because of a surgery scare, but Kevin is scheduled to deploy late April, early May for four months. While he is gone, I'm going to be moving back home and staying at my parents house. I'll also be working at Indian Lakes Golf Course as a lifeguard this summer. Kevin is going to United Arab Emirates. Duty calles, and the baby needs feeding. I promise to update again soon.
Was that so hard? It is the penalty you have to pay for being so far away. Daily posts would be nice, but I'd settle for weekly!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you finally updated.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for the update!!!! Even though I talk to you a couple times a week there were still some tidbits in there that were new to me! Like the build a bear, er monkey thing that you guys did. The one of kevin looks just like him! It's a good thing the monkey is wearing a dress since that's all you ever wore all through grade school. remember?! lol
ReplyDeleteGREAT UPDATE! I'm going to start being the high maintenance blog requester in the family (that is,in line after your mom!) - because since I don't talk with you very often, I rely on blogs. Sounds like you guys are doing wonderful. Stinks to have husbands deploying...I feel ya on that one!
