Our house...is a very very very fine house.

We are officially all moved in to our home sweet home, and everything is fantastic, Mostly because yesterday we bought a bed and we could stop sleeping on my makeshift bed; which was a quilt over all of our clothes. Our new bed is a queen Arapahoe mattress with box spring and frame from Denver Mattress, we bought it with cash even though they very temptingly, and sneakily offered us financing which would have allowed us to furnish our whole huge house, with lots of too nice furniture for nearly broke newlyweds. But, to own it free and clear feels wonderful and so does the decision to stay out of debt. Woot!! We did however have just enough money left over to "thrift" some other furniture. We had just begun thrifting when we found the impossible. A working, pretty nice, washer and dryer that we could afford. It's pretty much our favorite thing in our house, we think it really makes it a home. We also found a table and three chairs to go nicely in our kitchen, which by the way is the most well stocked room in the entire house not with food, but with wedding presents. We bought a book shelf for me, which I built from a box, and Kevin built our bed, desk, and entertainment center. Oh how I love a handyman. There's still so much to do, putting little things away, and catching up on insurance paperwork, and finding me a job on base, but each day some gets done. We have a whiteboard calender, and decided on having planning meetings each sunday, or saturday. (Inspired, of course, by my family's tradition.) Lastly, our two favorite additions to the house, besides the washer and dryer, are our map of the world, where we've put up all the places we've been, and our corkboard where our goals, hopes, dreams, and wishes will reside so we can see them and make them happen. We have three bedrooms upstairs. Our bedroom, an office, and a guestroom so if anyone ever feels the need to escape to the frigid cold and flatlands of North Dakota they will have somewhere to stay! and in the morning I'll make waffles. Really thought, it is quite pretty and everyone is friendly. There is one bathroom upstairs, and then another half bath downstairs on the same level as the kitchen and living room, we also have a backyard and little porch, and a basement, which I find creepy. All the floors are wood, and I think it's the prettiest little house in all the world.

  1. I like the candy house, but would love some real pictures. Maybe even a video like Taylor did of their new place. I can't wait until the insurance replaces your camera!! Vicki says the wedding pics should be done soon and I will get them to you ASAP.

  4. Congrats on your new place. I remember all the fun moving in moments. Actually, I moved in first, so it maybe wasn't as cool as I remember...
Anyway, glad to see everything is working out for you. You're on base, right? Have you had any luck finding a job?
